Hey! It's Cockroaches

This picture is for Papa since the cockroaches are what I remember about visiting him at work. Speaking of work, Brian went back there today since he has been out for awhile. Olivia is not allowed in the ICU so we're waiting for her to get transferred to another floor before we can all visit. Fortunately a lady we met at the Ronald Mcdonald house watched her this morning so I could see Alaina. She is doing really well and has even started taking bottles today. Since we couldn't go there Olivia and I went to the Durham Museum of Life and Science today http://www.ncmls.org/. She had a good time and it was nice to do something just the two of us.
In this picture she is digging for fossils. The museum actually scooped up some earth from a local digsite that used to be underwater and there were real fossils for the kids to dig up.

Alaina's surgery

Here is a picture of our poor little unsuspecting baby last night. As I write this she is in the operating room getting ready for her surgery. She has a wonderful team of people taking care of her so everything should go smoothly. Since we are staying in VA for at least awhile Brian set up her crib for when she gets home. I think she likes it=) I'll post an update when she is finished.
Update: Everything went well with the surgery, the surgeon said her heart is doing great and that there shouldn't be any future problems with it. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers.

D.C. on the 4th

We took a trip to Washington, D.C. for the weekend. It was my first time so it was neat for me to see all of the historical monuments and memorials. We went to the Natural History museum and there we went in a room with butterflies flying all over the place. Olivia really enjoyed getting to see them close up. Later in the day we walked to the Lincoln Memorial, that was a long walk! We didn't stay long because it was crowded and hot, but it was awesome to see. The fireworks were beautiful to watch (in our air-conditioned hotel room) =) Happy belated 4th to everyone!

Can you tell Olivia had a long day?
