This year...

... the plan is for success in vegetable gardening. Our previous years have been pretty unsuccessful as far as producing anything edible. This year we are getting serious. Now that it's our house we are taking over the yard and my lovely husband has built two raised beds to give the plants a better chance. So far we've planted strawberries, beets, radishes, lettuce, swiss chard and spinach. Thanks to my Grandparents for sending us some seeds! I'm not sure how good the cool weather plants are going to do in this crazy warm weather we've been having.

Here's Alaina checking out the strawberries. I've been letting the kids water the geraniums up front because (hopefully) they can't do any harm to those flowers.

Fingers crossed for a good growing season :)

Asparagus that had to be planted in a trench. Brian claims it looks like we buried a body in the back yard , lol!

V-Day Pics

The natural photo 1st and then the cheesy photo...

Alaina and Corinne have recently perfected their smiles for Mama's camera. I say "Smile" and out come the big, cheesy, overexaggerated grins. Trust me, there were pictures where you couldn't even see their eyes they were smiling so big. Thankfully Olivia has managed to control her grin to a more manageable level. She was only coerced into taking pictures because she had candy from school waiting. After every picture she would say "Can I have my candy now?" I really adore these children and their Daddy too!

Striped Cast

Miss O got her fancy new cast this morning. She decided on yellow with a candy cane stripe of pink. It even came with sharpies so she can have all her friends sign it at school. Other than that news, everything has been going well. No complaining or anything. The Dr. said the cast will come off in 4 weeks and that it should heal nicely with no lasting issues. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

It's Always Fun...

... Until someone gets hurt. Poor Olivia broke her arm playing at the park today on the monkey bars. Yes, I know, the infamous monkey bars. At least that's what everyone at the hospital said. I've even heard that great Aunt Gail broke her arm *twice* on the monkey bars. Guess we will be avoiding them from now on.

It was traumatic for me, I'm not so sure about Olivia. This girl didn't even cry... not once. I was probably closer to tears than she was. I think it helps that she has had several classmates and neighbors with broken bones, it's almost like a rite of passage. Everything is all patched up now and we'll be following up with a colorful cast soon... Send good thoughts for a quick recovery!
