Early B-Day Party!

We had Alaina's birthday party early so it could be on the weekend, the real day is on Thurs. First she started with the presents so that the frosting didn't end up all over the toys. She participated in unwrapping with a little help from Olivia. Alaina's favorite part was the paper of course.

She loved the cake and ate as much as I would give her. Alaina definitely takes after Dad and Olivia with her love of cake and all things sweet!

The look she gives me when I try to take pictures of her straight on. It's becoming increasingly difficult to take pictures of Alaina because when she sees me get the camera ready she will screw her little face up. I think she despises the flash and has decided to glare at me about it. So cute, but not very photogenic. Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet little girl!

I love someone with Down syndrome and today is a day to celebrate her unique extra chromosome!

Wordless Wednesday

Happy B-Day Brian!

Today was Brian's 31st birthday. We went shopping out of town to celebrate (that's a big deal when you live in a small town =)) He got a book on gardening since Brian recently has started his own plants including lettuce, spinach, and radishes that are in the house for now. He's been having fun showing Olivia about growing plants and hopefully we will get some good veggies out of it.

Surviving the Cold

We've been stuck in side a lot thanks to the weather. The snow finally let up so now it's just the freezing cold. The top picture is of Olivia trying to hide Alaina in the closet. That's her new game: where can I hide the baby? If I'm not paying attention she ends up in the shower or the closet. Alaina can move, but not fast enough to get out of these situations.

Their first day playing dress up together. I think Olivia is thrilled to have someone else to dress up with, especially someone who is not opinionated about clothes yet.

And then Daddy comes home. Yay!!!

Thinking of Summer

Olivia pulled out a baby bathing suit for Alaina and want to put in on her. There's still snow and cold weather outside so we're trying to stay entertained inside. Olivia wouldn't smile for the picture, but now that I'm writing the blog she's upset about it. Maybe she will smile next time =)
